Working: A Musical

Hear America Talking

August 20-September 5

Based on Studs Terkel’s best-selling book of interviews with American workers, WORKING is a captivating tapestry of monologues and songs which explores what makes our work meaningful across all walks of life. Whether it be in an office, a restaurant, your home, or you’ve retired, this musical reminds us to celebrate not only what we do, but how we do it. Nominated for 6 Tony Awards, this updated version is a musical exploration and celebration of essential workers and features new songs by Tony Award-winning Lin-Manuel Miranda, as well as favorites by Stephen Schwartz (WICKED) and Grammy winner James Taylor. Book Club

Discussion of Lynn Nottage's SWEAT

Tuesday, August 24 @ 7 PM

Our new book club will hold its next gathering to discuss Lynn Nottage’s SWEAT and the issues it raises. Read the script before the meeting, then join us in the Mainstage Lobby for some lively conversation (and a little wine if you want to BYOB). Each monthly meeting will discuss another play that addresses social issues. Communication about the book club and a PDF of the script are available through a private Facebook group. You may request to join that group by searching for “Chattanooga Theatre Centre Book Club.”
